    • Thanks. The whole idea behind the first year offers is that it becomes more expensive in the long run. Usually by selling add-ons (GoDaddy is a master at this) and renewal up-charges, some have even hidden fees. Crazy Domains has constant low pricing.

      • I do understand that some use this to get new customers. It’s just that they are not thinking about retention that much. A big chunk of new customer’s leave / transfer before the Domain is expired due to the renewal charge they are going to get. Thank you for showing this list. Kudos!

    • Thanks for the suggestion – the list is still in it’s baby steps. I had a look and indeed there was some registrars offering ridiculously low 90 RUB (Russian Rouble) pricing. What I am not excited about is that you need to submit your passport details to register and there is no support for private whois. Some companies seem to “do the registering for you”, (and doesn’t come cheap) which sounds like a really bad idea.

I’ll just leave the research to those interested on this one! 🙂

      • This is Cammy (aka Cammu, I had a typo in your site). Anyways, no, no need for passport details. I’ve registered one myself for a web development staging and it did not require me for a password.

This is where I’ve registered it for $1, renews at the same price.

  1. Most “cheapest” domain offers are simply bshit but this was not! And anyway, who would want to get a domain for a year and then pay up double?

    • Exactly. Yet, most people do so which fuels expensive registrars such as GoDaddy. Made some updates btw! Thanks for the comment.
